Webnet2000
OBS 7 has just been released, the latest in Offsite
Backup Systems and Data Protection Services from Webnet2000 From
hurricanes to floods, hardware failures to disgruntled employees, daily life affords
us plenty of reasons to store data offsite, seperate from our primary computers.
Not to mention the fact that most small businesses neglect to perform backups

to your backup needs A crucial component
of the Webnet2000 Offsite Backup System, is the DataSafe. A DataSafe is hardware
that connects to your network that will take the first stage of the backed-up
files, and in turn the DataSafe then connects to the Offsite Backup Server and
creates another backup of all the files held in the DataSafe. Therefore the files
that have been selected for backup, will be held in the DataSafe for ease of access
should you require to restore any files, but with the added knowledge that those
files are backed-up in at lease two different offsite locations. | | | | | | Offsite
Backup
Data is
compressed to upto 90% and then transferred offsite in real-time to
one of Webnet2000's secure datacentres, eliminating the risk of having backups
located onsite in case of a disaster or loss of data during transportation to
the offsite location Confidentiality

Data is transmitted and stored using the highest security
methods available, removing the risk of the data getting into the wrong hands.
The Webnet2000 OBS 7 uses many different defence mechanisms, such as PGP authentication,
blowfish encryption, password protection and client and system side logging. It
is designed to keep data backed up confidential, while retaining the ability for
legitimate users to perform data recovery when needed.
Secure
storage and availability of space
Encrypted
data is held offsite on a reliable disk sub-system, which is in turn duplicated
and backed up onto a second desk sub-system located apart from the primary disk
sub-system. Customers can therefore be sure that their backed up data is safe

Backup
After initial setup and the
required files have been placed into the DataSafe, the Webnet2000 OBS 7 Client
installed in the DataSafe runs the back up process automatically. The frequency
of the automation can be set by the person responsible for the backups. Automation
and online storage reduces costs
Webnet2000 OBS 7 eliminates various
costs associated with traditional tape based backup and recovery.
